Ryan is a Senior Intelligence Analyst and leads Renaissance’s Investigative Research and Business Intelligence functions that provides sophisticated research and analysis and exhaustive investigative due diligence findings in response to our client’s needs.
Ryan has more than 8 years of experience as a highly accomplished public records and due diligence investigator who has conducted due diligence, compliance reviews and asset, identity and background searches for highly sensitive government and corporate investigations. Ryan has completed thousands of investigations, ranging from concise background checks to year-long money laundering investigations on behalf of US Government and commercial clients. Before joining Renaissance Associates, Ryan was an independent contractor completing investigations on behalf of business clients and developing and delivering training programs for US Government and commercial clients.
Prior to this Ryan was a Senior Research Analyst at CENTRA Technology, Inc., a premier consulting firm that provides mission-critical support to vital defense, intelligence, and national security programs. At CENTRA, Ryan conducted investigations on behalf of the US Government identifying potential threats to high-level government officials, programs, and personnel. He also contributed to the design, development, and oversight of a comprehensive due diligence program for a US Government client.
Before CENTRA, Ryan was a Senior Associate in the Business Intelligence Services practice at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services for more than five years. In this role, he supported sensitive operations and counterintelligence programs at Special Operations Command, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Central Intelligence Agency. In a notable case, Ryan collaborated with Deloitte’s forensic accountants to identify key nodes in an international terrorist and narcotics money laundering network that lead to disruption of these nefarious activities and sanctions against multiple entities and individuals. While attending graduate school, Ryan completed open-source assessments of key issues related to US national security for the Hudson Institute Center for Political and Military Analysis and worked in the Republic of Georgia supporting rule of law programs following the Rose Revolution.
Ryan is dedicated to contributing to increasing the quality and elevating the standards of the industry and is an active instructor on the basics of due diligence methodologies, and intricate search techniques of key public records and commercial databases. Throughout his career, Ryan regularly performs peer-reviews and has verified hundreds of due diligence reports for junior analysts and colleagues.
Ryan holds a Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Security and Intelligence Studies and an undergraduate degree from Colgate University where he majored in Peace and Conflict Studies and minored in Middle Eastern and Islamic Civilization Studies.
